Hiyas peeps!

So, I was gonna start out with saying things like "Not Dead!" and "Got an extra day off work now, maybe I can start writing again!" and maybe a few other things. However, like many others in and outside of fandom and various communities, something else cropped up. That something was COVID-19.

To start; no, I'm not sick, and neither is my bf :iconrawzthetiger: (his work made him get tested recently due to allergies and his test came back negative). But, despite our own health, we've been trying to do our part with staying in as much as we're able and protecting ouselves however we can. Sterile gloves, soap, sanatizing wipes, etc. And yes, we do have toilet paper. 1 pack of it my mother insisted on giving us. Aside from that, we would just stay in on our free days and only go out for food and jobs.

For me, at least, part of that came to a halt today. I was originally under the impression my job, despite being in food service, was reasonably safe (overnight baking for Panera Bread). All we were going to see following the state's "No Dine-In Service" order would be smaller workloads. Which was the case, for the first couple days. Then the workload was cut even more and we were told to finish our work in under 7 hours and leave immediately to save on costs. Kinda annoying at the hit to my hours, but whatever, as long as something was coming in. Until this morning when my boss called and informed me that I and a bunch of other bakers were being furloughed.

For those who don't know, "Furloughed" more-or-less means that you've been sidelined without pay, but you haven't been fired or laid-off. I still techincally work for the company, but they can't give me any hours to work. While I still get my benefits like health, vision, etc, I can't accrue any vacation time (or use any for that matter), and I have to go apply for unemployment and hope it can help us through however long this takes to finally clear up.

So yeah, that's my current situation here. On the plus side, I got my tax return recently. While I was gonna put some towards a new PC and some towards a convention, it seems those plans are going on the backburner for now. Still, though, I probably need to find some kind of extra income. I've thought about doing writing again, which I do want to get back into, but I don't think I'll do commissions because I don't have the confidence to do them in a timely manner. Writing for myself feels difficult as-is cause the drive just comes and goes stupidly fast. Like, laying in bed, get an idea and the urge to write a story. In the 10 seconds it takes to get out of bed and to my PC, the drive is gone. Not sure what I'm doing wrong, but hopefully I can figure it out sooner rather than later.

I...really hate asking for handouts and donations. And I'm not, per-se. I'm gonna link a few things below and if you feel inclined, I would be greatful for any kinda support.

On the gaming front, meanwhile...

Lately, the only game I was reliably playing was Destiny 2. However, as of late, I've been sinking much of my time into Phantasy Star Online 2 (currently in Open Beta on Xbox One). Been waiting 8 years to play that game and I am throwing myself at it and having a great time. Might start an alliance (clan) at some point. If you play, lemme know and maybe we can do stuff together sometime.

I'm probably gonna get Doom Eternal at some point cause I loved Doom 2016. Part of me kinda wants to play Animal Crossing, but I dunno how much I'll get out of it. It would hold my interest longer if I have people to play with regularly. Previous games I've played and mostly enjoyed, but got bored of and kinda abandoned not too long after. I guess if people are around to play with, I could be convinced. In either case, my switch friend code is here, so feel free to add me regardless.

Before adding me on any platform as a friend, I would appreciate some kind of message letting me know who you are. I get a lot of random requests here and there and have no clue who some are or if they are real people. Basically, just shoot me a msg somewhere if you decide to add me on a friends list. Speaking of art, I am in the market for updated/proper refsheets for most of my OCs. Races include Dragons, a shark, 4-armed buff orca, chubby naga, and sergals. Males, Females and Trans-Females. Not looking to get them all at once, mind you. Many of my OCs lack a proper ref that I'm fully happy with, or their refs are old and/or not ideal as refs (shading and such). If you are an artist who is open or know any artists that are open and do ref sheets, hit me up, please! While I am rationing out my funds, I do have anough set aside for living expenses and stuff and have some disposable funds as well. No need to worry, not one of those who will spend every penny on art and have nothing left at the end to buy food or pay rent (though a rent-freeze would certainly make things less stressful in the short-term around here).
