Before we get to the numbers, I feel like explaining my situation a little more.
I work full time in the military and I may be slow on answering questions or providing updates due to ongoing operations or spending time with my family. Most nights I only write for about half an hour so I am considered a slow writer.

Pricing

Standard rate is going to be 15 cad/hr* on average I write about 1000 words an hour. Time needed for editing the draft copies will count towards the hourly amount. So longer stories will need more time editing and thus will be more costly.
Thus, the following are examples.

1000 words “Flash fiction” (60 min writing + 10 min editing – total hour rounded down = 1 hour of work for 15 cad)

3500 word “Short story” (3.5 hr writing + 30 min editing – total hour rounded down = 4 hours of work for 60 cad)

7500 word “Novelette” (7.5 hr writing + 1 hr editing – total hour rounded down = 8 hours of work for 120 cad)

Etc. Again these are estimates and are subject to change due to complexity of the story

*A minimum of 15 cad will be charged no matter the length/time of the commission.

Send me your idea and desired length. I reserve the right to decline commissions. I like to write with visual references but they are not required.
After your commission is confirmed I’ll write a short “Spark notes” version of the story, a bare bones story outline if you will. You’ll receive this outline and need to approve it.

This is your best chance to make any changes before I start writing the story.
If you agree with the outline that’s what I’m going to be writing. At this point I’ll be silent for a while as I work, feel free to check in but I reserve the right to withhold the story until the first draft is done.

Cancelation policy

You as the commissioner reserve the right to cancel the commission at any time before the first draft is sent to you. Once the first draft has been sent to you a payment of 15 cad/hr up to that point is expected. The commission can be paused until funds are available.

Adjustment policy

If you want something changed, I will offer up to an hour of free adjustments. After that my standard rate of 15 cad/hr will apply. Adjustments will need to be approved before editing begins.

Ghost writer

Ghost writer is available at a rate of five times the final commission price. These commissions will not exceed a total word count above 8000. I will keep a copy of the commission for personal use but will not share the commission with the general public.

Anonymity

With the exception of ghost written works all commissions are subject to being shared with the general public. At the request of the commissioner their name/handle will be withheld from the commission.
