Anthrocon Journal, Day 1 by DeRiften

Hello people and welcome to Anthrocon! After over 11 hours of sleep, I felt fine and ready to rock! So around 10:00am I left and went to the registration area only to find out that they opened at 10:00am instead of 2:00pm as planned. Filled the yearly survey to get the fancy ribbon and went to grab my badge and free supersponsor shit. In the free shit was an invitation to a fancy reception at the artist's alley on Friday night, dressy attire recommended... talk about fancy! There's not more details so I'm expecting more than I probably should. Also got a nice picture that I think you can iron on shirts, plus two tickets for free meals at Furnando's and Hanlon's Café, so I went to Furnando's for dinner. It's still decent but the workers seemed somewhat grumpy and uncaring, which is pretty surprising since they're so loved by dem furballs. Also just outside the restaurant there were these guys selling sundaes... covered in bacon bits. Dude, wth? You don't put bacon on desserts, you American weirdo. No wonder there's so many fat people. Oh well, I went back to the room to put the rest of my free shit away and read stuff and sort stuff and now I'm just about ready to get back so I'll keep you guys updated!

Btw, if any of you are here and want to meet me, I'll be at the Zoo for a while.

UPDATE

G' evening people! My 3DS' battery died so I'm back to the hotel room. I walked around for a bit to try and find Zoey\_Anelyn or anyone I know, but to no avail so I ended up chilling with one of my roommates for a while at the crossroad between the registrations area and the rest of the building, AKA where literally everybody goes. If you can't see someone there, it's probably 'cause he's not there. Anyway, while we were chilling and watching the fursuiters pass by, we racked up on streetpass tags for our 3DSes. I swear, in four hours I got over 90 tags. For supper I went to Harlon's Café I mentioned earlier and holy shit it was freaking delicious and the staff were having a blast, unlike Furnando's. Since there's literally nothing on the schedule today, I guess I'll rest up some more at the room since I still feel very sore from the bus ride. Oh yeah, talking about bus rides, yesterday one of the women who work at Greyhound told me about their main competitor, Megabus, who apparently has much cheaper tickets and more comfortable buses (two stories high buses too! which probably explains the cheaper ticket prices). I'll have to check that out next year if I can go (after all, since my studies begin in February I don't know if I'll be available next year).

Tomorrow's when the real fun starts, what's with the schedule being full as fuck but for now, I'll rest and watch the fireworks tonight.
