Does anyone see MIDI soundfonts as I do?

I see the samples in an instrument as a LOD in a 3D model. The more samples in an instrument means that It sounds "higher quality" right?

The same is with 3D models isn't it?

Unless the instrument/model is high enough quality that it doesn't need many samples/LOD's.

This is what I think, but you can tell me if I'm wrong.
