Independent racing game developers need your help! by furcar

Brain in a Jar Games, a UK based racing game company, has made many a great racing game. Indycar 2003 and 2005 were their biggest break out international successes, but in Europe they have several other good racing games. Right now, they have two games that really need your support:

The first game is on Steam Greenlight; Indianapolis 500 Evolution. If the name sounds familiar, its because it was released in the US for the 360 a few years ago. Like its first incarnation, the game focuses on Indy cars from 1961-1971 (the greatest time of advancement in the history of the Indianapolis car). The game shows 5 tracks age and change through that era: Trenton, Langhorn, Riverside, the Milwaukee Mile, and of course the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

It was a fair sales game, a loyal fan base...but the racing community did not really accept it. Brain In a Jar took these complaints to heart and retooled several things for this relaunch for the PC and EU Xbox Live. For starters, the largest complaint has been addressed; force feedback for wheels and controllers. Next, a superior physics and rendering engines have been introduced making the over 90 derivable cars drive better, and both the cars and tracks look even more stunning than before. The last major change, in addition to a myriad of smaller fixes, is an better AI system than the first release, making them drive smarter and faster. The game will be on Steam for PC, and XBLA for those of you in the UK/EU. The game is currently on Steam Greenlight in need of votes, please here and support this great title: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=93347150 (note: as of this posting, the video posted here was removed by the user from YouTube. May have been due to a fix they're working on for it.)

The next game is a completely new IP, one the studio considers their dream game; Open Wheel. This is a rather auspicious game, a few very interesting features and a lot of care, incite, and dedication going into its development. One of the interesting features is it does not have traditional lobbies. If you want to join or host a game...the track is your lobby, you have unlimited track time while you wait. Once the game starts, the host can have AI fill spots on the grid...and users can jump right in, taking the spots of the AI. Another interesting feature is the HUD. Instead of a conventional 2D HUD flat on the screen, Open Wheel's HUD is projected onto the racing surface, and will stay out of the way when making spectacular passes on your opponents.

Open Wheel will cover every facet of open wheel racing. From Karting you can climb up to low tier formula cars and even top tier Grand Prix cars. Even 1960s style GP cars will be in the game...and as the community grows even more styles will be added...can anyone say Roadsters? It is currently in alot of need on kickstarter, but even if that campaign fails, the game will still be developed, just at a much slower pace. It will be on PC, PS3, and 360 if everything works to plan. Please, help them out and spread the word: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/braininajar/openwheel

If you have read this far thank you, sorry this turned into a wall of text. Please spread the word, these games should not be lost to the racing game fan base. If your interested in Brain in a Jar, here is their site: http://www.braininajar.co.uk/
