Commissions! I've been saying that I want to take commissions for the longest time now, but I've been fretting about how to do them just right. At this point, I'm just going to give it a try and see how it goes.

I don't know exactly how many commissions I'll take. It will likely depend on the amount of interest and the ideas that people have. I don't want to take on more than I can handle. I don't want to be one of those artists.

DeltaEpsilon Terms of Service

This outline policies for you, the client, to commission DeltaEpsilon, the artist.

Will Not Draw ---

The artist will not draw most "extreme" fetishes or themes such as cub, baby, watersports, scat, gore, mutilation, hate groups, etc. The artist will not draw any characters that the client does not own copyrights to.

If the client is unsure about an idea or theme, then they may contact the artist via private message. The artist will not be offended by such inquiries.

Prices and Payment ---

The following prices are estimates for full body, single character images with simple backgrounds. Simple backgrounds include single colors, single textures, or very limited details such as a door frame or block-like furniture. Adding additional characters and complex details may result in additional costs. Showing less than the character's full body may result in reduced costs. The client must contact the artist with a short description of the commission to receive a full quote.

Sketch: $25

• Sketches will be cleaned so that they look good at low resolutions, but they may have errors, extra lines, and rough edges at higher resolutions.

Payment must be upfront and in full. Payment is accepted via Paypal invoices only. Payment attempted via other means will be refused and/or returned in full.

Communication ---

The client is encouraged to contact the artist regarding the commission through one consistent method, such as email or website private messages. Contact through other methods may be redirected to the original method for consistency and record keeping.

The client is encouraged to wait at least one week and at most three weeks between progress update requests.

Delivery ---

The artist will deliver two versions of a digital image. One version will be compressed for posting online (.jpg format and around 800 pixels resolution), and the other version will be uncompressed for personal use (.png, around 2400 pixels). No physical items will be printed or shipped.

Completion Time ---

Completion time is one to three months, excluding any time spent waiting for communication from the client or any time that the client has requested the work be put on hold. If the commission must be completed within a certain amount of time, then it must be discussed and agreed upon before any work begins.

Edits and Corrections ---

The drawing stages are sketching, inking, coloring, and shading. After each stage is completed, the client will receive a watermarked preview image and may request minor edits once. Minor edits include slight changes to expressions, proportions, positions, colors, and patterns.

Other edits will be done at the artist's discretion and may incur additional cost up to 20% of the original commission price. The client is encouraged to deliberate on edit requests for at least 24 hours and to be as clear as possible to avoid the need for repeated edits.

If the artist make an error and something does not match the original commission description, then any required corrections will be made with no penalty or additional cost.

Cancellation and Refunds ---

If the client cancels the commission for any reason, then the client will receive a partial refunded based on the drawing stages completed. The drawing stages are sketching, inking, coloring, and shading, and each applicable stage deducts equally from the partial refund. If the client is considering canceling the commission, then the client may contact the artist to request that the work be put on hold.

If the artist cancels the commission, then the client will receive a full refund. If the artist does not finish the commission within the agreed upon completion time (or within three months if there was no agreed upon completion time), then the client may choose to either wait longer or receive a full refund. The agreed upon completion time excludes any time spent waiting for communication from the client and any time that the client has requested the work be put on hold.

In the event of a cancellation, the client receives no rights to any images, and the work may be repurposed at the artist's discretion. Repurposed work will not contain any of the client's content or characters.

Copyright ---

As the creator, the artist owns the copyright to all images created and transfers certain rights to the client. The simple language intents are as follows:

• The artist retains rights to reproduction and redistribution, such as for posting to online galleries and for advertising commission services, but not for other commercial uses, such as merchandising, without prior consent.

• The artist grants the client the right to reproduction and redistribution for personal, noncommercial uses such as posting to online galleries or making personal prints.

• The artist grants the client the right to issue take down requests against third parties.

• The artist grants the client the right to modify the work with significant cropping to create a user icon or avatar. The artist does not grant the client the right to modify the work in any other way without prior consent.

• The artist does not grant the client the right to produce derivative works by any means, such as copying, tracing, vectorizing, recoloring, etc., without prior consent.

• The artist does not claim rights to any character(s) depicted, and transfers any rights or licenses as necessary so that the intended owner(s) may use the character(s) in future works or commissions as they please. The intended owner(s) may be the artist, the client, or a third party depending on the commission.
