Pretty much the usual on the call for commissions if I'm frank with you... I want to keep working through this and I've hammered out a couple of love, engrossing commissions this week, so the meatier the better. All cash going, of course, to bills and the grey mare's treatment/recovery as I have tapped out my insurance limit, unfortunately. I'm getting through a good chunk of work and prioritising commissions, of course, and I massively appreciate both the distraction and the business currently as I must keep going with freelancing: this is my full-time work.

She's had her surgery today (number five and counting, I'm not counting the last sinus drain as the hole was open and no further incisions were made) and they couldn't use the laser as the tissue had grown back too thick and hard for it to penetrate (may have been cartilage? I can't recall from the conversation). They've gone in and made a big, completely different hole through hole and cartilage into the problem chamber, which holds a lot of infected tissue right now. If it can drain, the infection will heal. If the hole closes, the infection will remain. They made a big frontal flap through bone and skin in the front of her face (bigger than before) to take a good look in there, still no tumours or cysts showing but that's how they got such a good look in there - sinuses also flushed clean and all pus suctioned out.

I just want her home and better again, been working with little mare in the meantime. Looks like she'll be there for more than a week again from this point and I'm worried as we're getting into snow season here (it's a long drive to get her back and we had several idiots driving dangerously around the trailer on the way there too). I just want her back and healthy, although I did say in my "New Year's Resolutions" that all 2019 had to give me was a happy and healthy horse and that was all it had to "be" this time, no big goals or hyped up rubbish of being a better person...just my girl, happy and healthy.

I don't know if we'll get there. I hope we will.

Send the positive energy to her, please. She needs it. If you at all fancy a commission, please know that all of the money is going straight to fulfill her needs, along with basic living costs here as we're not exactly doing anything else at the moment but focusing on her. It's not a luxury, it's to further her wellbeing and health (although that is not to put down anyone who puts commission money towards luxuries, I just want you to know that it's going to an exceptionally personal and tangible cause here especially).

I will say though, lads and ladies, that whereas I don't think we will be celebrating Valentine's Day this year, I do very much enjoy taking on Valentines commissions and hope to have something on offer for you.
