Terms of Service by zuckerdachs

  1. All prices listed are baselines, and are subject to adjustment depending on complexity and content. I am also willing to negotiate – within reason.

  2. I reserve the right to decline any offer of business – though that will usually only happen if the character or subject is something I do not feel I could do well. While I am willing to give most things a go, please consider my capabilities and style before asking!

  3. If you are commissioning a mature piece involving your character and someone else's, I will be asking permission from the other party to include their character. If it is intended as a "surprise," there must be visible proof of positive association between the two of you (ie, couple's icons on your profiles, prior mature commissions, or similar). This proof must be evident on the other person's profile as well. I know this may be inconvenient, but I want to avoid undue upset!

  4. I request that you be patient. My productivity is governed by inspiration, and sometimes it takes a while to strike. I often do several drafts of a picture before I am satisfied. I want to give you the best I am able to!

  5. I prefer payment for sketches up front. Because I work slowly and want you to feel as comfortable as possible, I will not take payment for any commission above sketch level until I have begun working on it. As soon as the thumbnails are complete and before I begin the linework, I will send you an invoice.

  6. PayPal or money order only, please! If you use PayPal, please mark your payment as Goods or Services, and list your name in the subject field so I know it’s from you. Please also try to avoid indicating specifics of the commission in the message!

  7. Yes! You may, and are encouraged to, contact me at any time for any reason. I want you to feel comfortable hiring me. You are welcome to ask me for my email address or messenger names.

  8. You may repost the art I do for you on your own gallery. Please link back to my account so people know I did it!

8a. That said, unless previously agreed upon, I retain the rights to the art. That means I can post the art in galleries in the future. I will, of course, always mention whose lovely character I had the pleasure to draw.
8b. Following that, you retain IP rights to your character, and except in very special cases, I will never sell prints or unclaimed originals of commissioned work. If I feel something could be resold, I will always ask your permission first.

  9. I will do up to two revisions, in the sketch stage only. Any further will require a $10 fee. Full refunds will also only be granted before the inking stage. Refunds requested at inking stage will only be 50% of what was paid, and 25% at color stage. Completed work will not be refunded except under extenuating circumstances.

9a. If you cancel your commission after I have already begun working on it, I will send you your money minus compensation for the work completed (based on the above price list).

  10. Traditional media commissions can be mailed within the US free of charge; shipment charges to destinations outside the US can be discussed on a case-by-case basis. Lamination and clip for traditional badges are included in the commission price.
