Recently, an iOS user who had been watching my Telegram art drop channel notified me that my channel had been blocked on their device, “because it was used to spread pornographic content.” I looked into this and discovered that others were having the same issue. I know that numerous adult channels have been blocked on Telegram, allegedly due the Telegram developers refusal to abide by Apple’s App Store ToS which requires that apps filter out adult content by default. I also found that if a link to a private channel appears in public, Telegram treats the linked channel as a public channel. I had linked the channel in a journal on Fur Affinity, and it’s likely that somebody reported the link to either Apple or Telegram and got my channel blocked. As far as I know, the channel is only blocked in the official Telegram app, but can still be viewed in a web browser.

I’ve decided that instead of requiring channel members to use a bunch of awkward workarounds, I’m going to close down my Telegram art drop channel and open two new ones. There will be a public channel, which will be strictly SFW. There will also be a NSFW private channel, but you will have to ask me for the link personally.
