Regarding My Gallery by EmptySet
Many of you may notice that my gallery appears empty at this time. Please know that I have not deleted anything. Due to a recent discovery of a "feature" of this website and the abuse of that "feature" on my art, I have modified my gallery so that only people on my Friends list may see my art. This was the only thing I could think of doing without deleting everything.
So why am I doing this?
I do not wish to delete my art from Weasyl nor do I intend on leaving this site! I am currently disabling the general population from seeing (or modifying) my art submissions until we can come to a resolution to this problem I am having. Please do not take any of this as me favoring friends or anyone special. Please do not take any of this personally! I did this so I can KEEP my art on this site. Once we can come to a resolution, I fully intend on returning my art to its original state.
In addition, I will not post anything new until things are resolved.
I do deeply apologize to you all for this inconvenience! I really want to have my art out there for you guys to see, but at this time, as a result of abuses to a system in place, I can no longer allow those abuses to continue. I truly hope the staff at Weasyl will take the appropriate measures to ensure I can return to using Weasyl as intended. Until that time comes, the art is hidden indefinitely.
Can you still view my art right now?
If you are currently on my Friends list, then you should still be able to see my art. If you REALLY want to see my art, you are welcome to send me a friend request... BUT (and this is a big BUTT)... if I see any unwanted changes to my submission info between now and then without my expressed consent, I may choose to remove EVERYONE from my Friends list to prevent any more abuse. I really do hope that never becomes an issue!

Again, please accept my apologies for this annoyance. I REALLY hope we can get my gallery back to the public soon! Until then, please bare with me!

Open tagging

We have this on SF too. Is it a problem there?

I don't see the ability to add/delete tags on there. If this is possible, then I have missed something, and if so, yes, it is a problem! People have added many inappropriate keywords to my submissions on here. I feel I should be made aware of any revisions made to my submissions AND I, as the artist, should have the final say on what goes on them.

Okay, I just looked, and you are right. there is an open tagging option there. However, in the account settings, you can disable it at least. So, I see no problems there. I did, in fact, miss this. Luckily, what happened here has not occurred there. But I don't want to even allow the possibility of it happening again without my knowledge.

I see an option to prevent deleting of tags but I am not seeing a preventing of adding tags. Have you considered opening a support ticket with staff about this?

From what I understand, open tagging is fundamental to the site.

If so, then I, unfortunately, cannot be a part of something like that. It goes against my principles as an artist. To me, what I have seen is vandalism.

Your position confuses me. How is open tagging---helping people find art easier---vandalism? If they're putting invalid or abusive tags, you can delete those and/or request a mod approach them. If it's valid tags then the addition helps your art be easier to find.

When someone places an invalid keyword on my artwork and I am not notified of it, then this keyword is now associated with my art without my consent. It's not an issue of me simply deleting it... It's the issue of me not knowing the change was made in the first place and me potentially having to continuously update my entire gallery of unwanted keywords.
As for take on it being vandalism... to use an example, I had to remove a "beastiality" tag on a drawing I did for a friend who passed away. You have no idea how much that infuriated me.
Being that I have control over this gallery, and it being my art, i feel I should maintain control over my art and what gets associated with it.

I can see on a system that relies on tagging that the more tags the better are a good thing but I think it should be left to the choice of the artist who can tag their work. I know I am sensitive on my art and would like to have the choice say me only/friends/everyone
