After fighting alongside Bailey to make her comfortable, my little girl was put to sleep this afternoon..

She had what the vet strongly suspected were spinal tumors, which put pressure on her spine and deformed it in at least two places. She was placed on palliative care to make her comfortable up to the end. She eventually lost the ability to move properly and lost her ability to use her fine motor skills in her hands, which meant she could not feed herself. She developed highly abnormal movements, jerky and jumpy and spastic. My fiancee and I would hand feed her to ensure she got the proper nutrition and hydration she needed. She was placed on prednisone after her initial medicine didn't help her. After just a couple days on the prednisone, her movement returned to normal and she regained the ability to use her hands, and even started eating on her own again..

Her medicine failed yesterday, but we were hoping maybe it would kick in today and help her, but it never did. She was clearly suffering, so I made the call. She has gone where I cannot follow, and has been reunited with her sisters, and one little bald man, which have passed on before her. We did everything we could do for her...
