My Christmas 2017 Vacation by RentonTBuck

I'm back from my Christmas vacation, and this is how it went:

My mother and I left mid-morning on Christmas Eve, and we watched "Love Actually" on a portable DVD player I brought along with me. After stopping for lunch at Perkins, we then arrived at my grandmother's apartment to drop our belongings off and visit with her for a bit before we can take her along to attend an evening church service my aunt, uncle and cousins were performing in (they sung with the choir and one of my cousins did a reading). Afterward, we went to my uncle and aunt's house to have turkey sandwiches for dinner; it was then that I watched my cousins play "Call of Duty: WWII" on their XBox for a while before we all watched the last half of the movie "White Christmas." Then my mother, grandmother and I left to return to the apartment and turn in for the night.

Christmas morning, we got dressed, ate breakfast and then went to the house of another uncle of mine to open presents and have our big lunch, served buffet-style.

In a stocking of mine, it was filled with the following items:
-A Slinky, Jr. toy
-A Holiday Flashing Bubbles toy
-A mini Rubik's Cube
-A bag of chocolate coins
-Candy powder served in a magic wand
-Volcano Putty
-A crazy straw
-A candy cane
-A Cracker Jack box
-A container of snack mix
-A reindeer hat

Here are the following gifts I got for this year:

-$50 cash
-A book called "Furry Nation: The True Story of America's Most Misunderstood Culture"
-The novel "Lord of the Flies"
-"Zits Apocalypse" (a Zits treasury book)
-"Peace, Love and Wifi" (a Zits treasury book)
-Body lotion
-Boxer shorts
-A pack of undershirts
-A pack of white socks
-Two pajama bottoms (one themed after Gryffindor from the "Harry Potter" books, and one themed with heads of stags all over it)
-A $40 Lee-Ann Chin's gift card
-A $20 Target gift card
-A Rifftrax Live DVD called "Christmas Shorts-stravaganza!"
-A book called "The Hidden Art of Disney's Late Golden Age"

It was after opening presents that my mother and I had to take off and get home while the sun was still out. During our drive home, we watched "White Christmas" and "We're No Angels" on the DVD player until we arrived at our destination.

Despite the nasty below-zero cold weather during the trip, it was still nice to see my relatives that I had not seen since last summer. I hope everyone else has had a good holiday celebration this year. Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, and a Happy New Year! ^^
