DeviantArt Account? by Hooded-Cavy
I've been contemplating on whether I should get a deviantart account or not. I'd still use weasyl, but it seems that more people (especially those who follow me on youtube) have a da. Plus I might have a better chance at commissions there? I'm not really sure. I'd love to hear others' opinions!

Yeahhh I've heard about the art theft problems on deviantart and how awful the staff is. I already have a twitter but don't have a very big following or anything on there.
The only big pro about deviantart in my opinion is that it's more popular and so many people have it, so it might be easier to do commissions on there. I'm still thinking about it. Thank you for your input!

Personally, I wouldn't suggest it. DeviantART has a huge art theft problem they refuse to do anything about, and the community is toxic. I made an account in 2011 and deactivated it in 2015, during my time I personally noticed the staff becoming more lax with art theft as time passed.
I suggest Twitter, there's plenty of potential for a good following and commissions. I haven't noticed art theft there either. Not saying it doesn't happen at all, I'm sure it does but if it were on the level of dA I'm sure I would have heard about it by now.
