Once again, I get to experience this surreal moment. The sun is scarlet red, the sky is filled with smoke, and the air very hot. It's gloomy, and large chunks of ash are raining down from the sky. I had to go out with a dust mask and a folded up, wet, paper towel, just to breathe, while calling for the cats. I hope the wind shifts, and clears the air tonight, but it's unlikely. The wind usually blows the smoke towards us overnight. It would be great if we had a good rain storm, to both clear the air, and douse the fires.
