Year Three by ClockworkWolf

Another year. It wasn't much of a year for art, but it was a year none the less. Keeping with the format of the other yearly journals I'll talk about what happened and what my plans for the next year are (and hopefully keep them this time).

What happened this year? Not art... I have a few pictures that I'm working on that might be done by the time classes start again, but most likely not. I do think that I did reach some of my goals with speed and skill, but mostly in Drawpile sessions where doing a finished picture doesn't happen. I also took part in Inktober to varying degrees of success and I might still post a collection of the ones that turned out well. So, what was I doing during my time? When I wasn't required to do yard work, I was working on a game! It's a turn based dungeon-crawler in the vein of Stone Soup, but with better graphics, uses hex tiles and will be moddable. It still has a lot of work to be done on development, but the structures are coming together. I might post more about this when it gets closer to completion.

What about next year? Do art. That's about it. I still want to get better and faster, but first I need to ACTUALLY be doing art. In other words this year's goal is productivity. I might set some challenges for myself, actually open up for some cheap commissions and art trades, pretty much anything that will give me stuff to draw. I might do another 'drawing a day for a month' challenge and do some requests through that too or if someone has a classical art picture they'd like me to rework, I'd be interested in trying. As stated, the goal is to draw and get better.

In conclusion: It just wasn't a good year for art. In the lack of motivation to put stylus to tablet, I found other things to occupy my time. If you have any suggestion or opinions on anything above, drop it in the comments. And as always, a HUGE thank you to everyone and I hope to see more of you next year.
