Ok, there is actually a light at the end of the tunnel at this point. Please, even if you haven't read any of these updates before - please read this one.

Our car payment ($500) was due yesterday. This marks the third month (though not in a row - we just haven't been able to catch up on the back payments we'd missed) that we haven't been able to pay. 90 days is a benchmark in defaulting on loans - it marks the beginning of the repossession process.

I called our loan company (Santander Consumer USA) yesterday morning and was on the phone with them for over an hour. I explained our situation (as I have to many of their representatives as they called us about the past due account), but this time I got someone who was actually LISTENING, and willing to help.

He filed for an extension of our loan, which basically takes the two missed payments and (rather than counting them as "missed"), moves them to the END of the loan and extends the time period of the loan for an extra two months. (I don't know if we've been approved for that yet - I'll find out in the next few days, but he said we should be.)

Then, there was the matter of not being able to make this payment, the one that was due yesterday. After some work, he managed to get us approved for a half payment that will count as a FULL payment. The catch is that it will be pulled from the account they have on file - our Chase account, the one my GoFundMe is attached to - on the 26th. That's $250 coming out of that account in less than a week.

There's less than $1 in that account right now.

This is where I need your help. I need to get in $250, into Chase, in less than six days. Money takes time to move from GoFundMe. It also takes time to move from Paypal. It's about the same either way.

Getting this payment paid will make us golden with our car loan again, as long as the extension goes through. No more worry about repossession. And my client will likely be able to pay me next month which will cover the payment as it has been the last few months.

I need your help. Please share this, even if you can't donate. And if you can donate - even if it's just a little bit, please do so. I need to raise this money - on top of making sure my wife has her medication and we have food - before the 26th.

I'm looking into filing for bankruptcy, which will clear all our credit card debts and (may or may not - I'm not clear on this yet and am talking to several lawyers) the car loan, though allow us to keep the car. Once I can get everything fixed, I know someone who recently got hired on at Disneyland who may be able to refer me and get me a job there - at least through the holiday season.

So things are really looking up, despite the consequences of the bankruptcy. But I still need a bit more help to get me there.

I am still open for commissions, though a recent injury has made that difficult for me. All information about that can be found at the link below:

In addition to this, I do still need to cover my wife's medication. She has about two and a half days left at this point, so it isn't uber pressing, but I want to make sure it's mentioned. I can get her a full week for $100. But lately I've been buying it in 3 day chunks, which comes out to $45 (ATM fees make it not split evenly).

We're at the end of our food stamps for the month, and slowly going through the food we have in the house. We're down to crackers and peanut butter - which, while not nutritious, is at least filling.

If you donate via the link on my commission page, you can note what you'd like your donation to go towards and I will make sure that it does. The cat has food, but needs litter at some point soon as well.

Anyway, that's where we stand. I can make this work - I know I can. I just need a bit more help from you all to climb out of this ditch. Thank you so much!
