Well that dream quickly turned into a nightmare. by Mander

So remember how things were going so well for me?

lol.

So, i've been having issues i've kept out of public eye about my job, and it finally came to a head last week and damn near exploded. Allow me to explain as eloquently as possible.

I was supposed to be earning $9.20 an hour starting July 17th. I came into work with a "Raise" of a dime, bringing it to a grand total of $8.65 an hour, "Management" pay. They also promoted someone underneath of me who had been employed there literally a month to out-rank me, at $10+ an hour to boot. Now, the real issues began around Sunday last week. I came down with a sinus infection, nothing too major, right? Take some antibiotics, rest a few days, and i'm good to go right? Wrong.
I was medically excused from work for two days, and I came back to not one, but TWO attempts at double shifts, 12+ hours each. I worked one of them, however the next day I was scheduled to come in at midnight for the weekly truck night where we restock our products for the week. From 8am until 9pm that night they were blowing my phone off the hook, trying to get me to work the second 12+ hour shift I mentioned prior. They called me 8 times, and texted me three times. Finally Sleek answered the phone asking what they needed, and they needed me to come in early, however it was not "Mandatory", and I was still actively showing signs of illness. I decided right then and there %8.65 an hour was not worth this. I went in to drop off my uniforms, and was met with the news that they had changed my schedule in the book without telling met at ALL to come in at 10pm, when the day before it said Midnight. So I was technically "Late", even if I hadn't decided to quit. I left my uniforms, said it wasn't worth it, sorry, and have a happy shift.

Now, the REAL icing on the cake came not one MINUTE, a literal MINUTE after I quit, the store manager was apparently watching camera from home (Who does that though), and texted me "Thank you Jesus" at the fact that I just walked out.

So, fuck that job and everyone who works there.

Now, this unfortunately means i'm unemployed for the time being, and thusly, I will likely be opening commissions very soon to help cover my cost of living until I find new employment.

Thanks life. =/

Well that dream quickly turned into a nightmare.

Wow by the way you described it they where trying to MAKE you quit so they wouldn't have to pay out unemployment. I've seen places do that crap before.

Might want to talk to legal aid. That sounds like a potential lawsuit for constructive dismissal.
