I am honestly a coloring artist, rarely do I draw myself anymore and I even take coloring commissions for pretty cheap honestly. But the point here is this.

How do you feel about this, someone commissioning another artist just to color a picture they had made or gifted to them or some other circumstance towards obtaining the picture, by another artist?

I personally think it is fine if either the artist is ok with it in terms of if it was a free form of art or if it was a commissioned piece.

In terms if it was a free piece like most free to use YCH style pics like all those Butt icons or if it was a free piece to you like a request, gift, or anything of that sort. I would say for something like these you should ask the artists permission regardless if it features you're character or not.

As for if it was a commissioned piece then I believe the person that commissioned the picture has full rights to it since the artist was paid to make the product and thus the commissioner should have the right to do with the picture as they please....BUT you should still never remove that the ORIGINAL artist made the picture and thus still deserves rights towards it themselves at least in name and credit that they created it.

So tell me (for whoever looks at this and through my poor grammar), what do you think on this subject?
