Hello Weasyl World! by Crimes

As I finish up the tail end of my que, I have to ask...should I open a few slots of regular commissions, or sketch up a couple YCHs?

YCHs sound fun because I can practice any pose I like! It also doubles as warm up!
However, I've had bad luck with them in the past. :C (People not paying me, backing out, ect.)

I really enjoy doing regular commissions too though. I love bringing people's characters and ideas to life. However they can be more stressful on me, especially if an idea just doesn't end up working out for me for whatever reason.

SO. I ask you...which do you prefer? Which would you be more likely to buy? (in general, not taking it as a commitment lol)

It's almost unfair for me to answer since I'm not buying at this time, but I prefer to look for artists who are open for commissions, and don't look as much for YCHs.

Is there a way you could "test run" both?

      Totally still fair!
You've bought art before, therefore you have a preference, and that is all I am looking for (:

Commissions used to be my primary job. I now work part time, and do art on the side, mostly for fun money. I suppose I could do some warm up sketches, try those out as a YCH, and then accept a couple slots of regular commissions.

    Hello lady!

My opinion probably doesn't hold much weight, as I haven't had any sort of art of my character done by another person. However, if I ever do get any sort of extra cash, I would personally go for commission instead of YCH. While the YCH is great for the artist, and have no problem with them as I have seen others do, I just don't like the whole bidding process of them.

      Thank you!

I myself prefer commissions, because I like the idea of something original and unique drawn just for mem with me in mind!

However, if I do a YCH, I would probably do it as a set price type thing. The first person who claims it and pays gets it. I don't like dealing with bids, even from the artist's perspective.

It really depends, on both what the YCH is and what sort of pose you pick, though I do often generally go with commissions unless it just happens to be precisely what I need.

Though I am still looking forward to our outstanding idea, whenever you get around to it. ;)
