This happens to me frequently, for awhile, and even when I had a lot of following on different sites.
I once had an idea for a miniseries where it involved some rivalry between 2 factions with a layout for the settings, story, and characters. Innocent enough. It took me a long time to make. No activity in it. Working on that was a stupid waste of effort.
I had some characters I'd like to interact with other people's chars but every time I do, no one seems to take notice. Like a collab, even as some kind of trade and requests. But usually people only want just their only.
I make new chars. Unless they look like they'll be involved with something of kink, people do not bother looking into them. My newer characters just fade into obscurity never to get mentioned again.
