Murder Mystery Series set in Anciet Egypt by Docksy

So the other week one of my classmates asked us to study at the local library, and to be fair she only wanted to find out how we planned to study, so she left pretty early, so we [L and I] started walking around the library looking for some Piers Anthony [he was supposed to be in the fantasy section, but we couldn’t find it ourselves] We asked one of the staff and he pointed it out, and on the way L struck out ahead of me and I caught sight of a book that I just couldn’t walk away from. You know how they say never judge a book on it’s cover? They lie. This was Egyptian, of COURSE I had to pick it up! It’s a murder mystery set in Ancient Egypt during Tutankhamen’s reign, and it’s part of a series! Book 4, but to be fair there wasn’t a continuity issue with this one thankfully! It’s called ‘Eater of Souls’ and the series’ main character Lord Meren must find out if Ammut herself has come to the land of the living in order to bring justice to those not yet dead and omfg you guys, the author is an anthropologist! SHE KNOWS HER SHIT YO! Some of the names are kinda screwy [Toth, and at one point Sekmet turns into Selket] but you know who everyone is supposed to be. I usually don’t like murder mysteries because they are either too hard to figure out on your own [which is half the fun right?!] or they’re FAR TOO EASY. I figured out who was BEHIND Ammut about halfway in, but the twist at the end caught me way off guard [and I would say it’s a bit problematic how its portrayed, but it’s 4000 years ago, so I’ll let it slide] The author is Lynda S. Robinson and the first in the series is ‘Murder in the Palace of Anubis’. I’m definitely going to find the other 5 books! Well, starting with the 5th since this one has a plot that doesn’t get wrapped up in EoS :V
