FaroreNightclaw Commissions and Streams, How They Work by farorenightclaw

Hi everyone! So it seems that there's been some confusion as to how I'm handling new commissions right now, or old ones for that matter. I've gotten multiple people misunderstanding the current set-up so I figured I'd shed some light on the situation. I'm also, as of discussing with CassioBunny last night, reworking the stream structure a bit to make it work more how I wanted it to originally. This means no more timed commissions right now, but instead, an option on Saturdays for one or two people to get a shaded commission on stream.

Basically, right now, my 'regular' commission queue is longer than I'd like it to be. This queue includes digital color, ink, and sketch commissions, as well as the remaining Birthday Sale commissions. I have other stuff I work on as well, mostly pet sim work, Patreon, and helping out with InkedFur's new website and social management stuff. All this adds up for a very busy robot, but because I need to keep making money and also because I want to be able to offer a way for people to still get art while I work down my commissions queue, I'm also streaming three days a week and taking commissions there, to be finished in stream. Regular, off-stream commissions are CLOSED until I can get my queue to a place where I'm comfortable taking new 'regular' work again.

So, to reiterate, REGULAR COMMISSIONS ARE CLOSED.

Here is how the stream structure works:

Tuesdays and Thursdays I take sketches, inks, and flat colors. I usually take 3 slots per stream, though sometimes less if I'm not feeling up to it or if all three people who want art want detailed flats images, etc.
Saturdays I take sketches, inks, flats, and shaded commissions, which includes both cell shading and illustration styles. The emphasis is on the shaded stuff if possible, but if nobody wants that on any given Saturday I'm happy to do smaller stuff as well. Generally I would take 1 or 2 shaded slots, or 3 smaller slots as on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
As with all my work, my TOS applies, and it is linked on the FA stream notice uploads as well as directly on my Picarto page. Prices can be found on my Picarto page and usually on stream notice uploads. Stream prices are generally $5 cheaper than what it would cost to purchase a non-stream commission (if I was open) and I plan to continue that once I open for off-stream commissions again. Please note that I am not offering detailed paintings on streams, as they take too long. Thus, for reference, stream prices are as follows:

Tuesdays and Thursdays:
Sketch - $15
Ink - $35
Flats - $55

Saturdays:
Same as Tues & Thurs, plus:
Cell Shade - $75
Illustration - $95

In all cases, prices are for 1 character and no background. +50% of base price for additional characters. Backgrounds TBD on a case-by-case basis. Complexity fee may apply to things such as: wings, complex markings (colors only), excessive multifur, tentacles, etc.

And my TOS can be found here: http://farorenightclaw.dreamchaos.net/terms
Please give it a read through if you are planning on commissioning me; I recently made some minor changes but they are worth noting if you want to work with me.
Please note that my TOS applies to you whether you read it or not; you are agreeing to it by commissioning me. Violations of the TOS may result in being banned from commissioning me again. Severe violations may also result in an Artists Beware post on Livejournal. Of special note, as it is the term most often violated: you may not alter your commission without express written permission from me. This means you cannot ink sketches, color inks, shade flats, or have anyone else do the same (whether you pay them or not), or edit the commission (such as adding markings or backgrounds, changing expressions, or adding your own watermark to it, to name a few examples) unless you verify with me in writing that it is okay for you to do so. I AM NOT OBLIGATED TO APPROVE REQUESTS FOR ALTERING COMMISSIONS. It is my work, I legally own it, and unless you purchased additional usage rights from me, it is up to me if I am comfortable with you making changes to it or not. Cropping the image, such as for icons or banners, does not fall under this rule and is allowed.

As mentioned, streams are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays (unless I need to cancel a stream for some reason). Streams generally start in the afternoon, 2pm - 4pm or so Pacific time, though Tuesday streams may begin as late as 8pm or 9pm (or so), due to the fact that I have to leave for therapy at 4.30pm on Tuesdays and then must wait for dinner to be over before I can begin streaming.

Other than my Tuesday stream, I currently have a 4-day work week with 10-hour days. I am usually up around 11am and go to bed around 2 or 3am (due to CassioBunny's new work schedule) and work between 1pm and 11pm. On Wednesdays and Fridays I work on my commission queue, pet site stuff, InkedFur stuff, Patreon stuff, etc etc etc stuff. I may also work on such things on Thursdays and Saturdays if I am not too tired out by streaming. You are always welcome, if you are a commissioner of mine, to ask me for an estimate for how long it will be until I get to your piece; however, estimates will be extremely rough, especially as I'm still getting used to the new schedule and working out how much I can complete in a day. My current wild guess for when I will have my queue down and will be able to open for regular commissions again is around 6 months or so, but please do not hold me to that, as I said, it is an extremely rough estimate and I never know what will pop up between now and then.

So that about wraps it up! tl;dr you can buy commissions from me in streams, but not otherwise; streams are Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday; I am working on whittling down my queue; I have other stuff to work on besides furry commissions; read my TOS please; I think I might be open for non-stream commissions again in 6 months. That's about it!

Thanks for reading! Feel free to ask questions!
