Well, it’s midnight, fifth of March 2016. I’m now 24 year old.

It’s been exactly one year since I joined the furry community.

Actually, if you dig a little on the FWG forums, you’ll discover I joined officially on the seventh. Blame that on Dwale – it’s the one who took a few days before approving me. Also, a great writer who y’all should totally read more of. Still, I consider the day of my birthday as the day I officially joined the fandom. Also I love ya, buddy <3

I wanted to write a reflection about it, but I’m not sure what to say. It’s undeniable my life has changed a lot. I flew to America, attended the last Rainfurrest, spent an amazing week or so at my buddy Ocean’s place, met new people, yadda yadda yadda. I’m still working on Fragments with Munchkin, currently giving the finishing touches to the second pass of edits, and I started publishing around the web. You can read some of my articles here.

I just don’t really know what else to say, honestly. I deal in words, but I always find it hard to use the right ones in these situations. I feel incredibly grateful for some of the chances I’ve been given, and most of the people I met. I took on a huge amount of responsibilities, and while I’m still waiting for them to pay off, I learned a lot from them. [adjective][species] is turning out to be an incredible learning experience, and there’s a lot of more stuff I can’t fit in a single journal. I also know how to manage stress a lot better now, which is another plus I suppose.

What’s next? Well, I want to try to get in touch with the Italian community. I jumped over the pond without even taking a look, and I feel like I’ve been missing out on that – plus there may be some opportunities to explore there. Who knows. I’ll be (trying to do a better job at) keeping you informed. And writing. I need to write more.

So, I’m 24. I’ve been in the fandom for one year, yet it feels like I showed up yesterday. I was told there was a party here.
