Opinion on My Stuff by Rizzell

When it comes to critiquing my artwork, I really do not mind the mistakes people point out on my art. Frankly, I whole heartily welcome it; it would greatly be beneficial to be aware of what things I would need to improve. Keep in mind, I am only an amateur, but I want to get better and I want my art to please the viewer's eyes. I been practicing a lot more ever since I got back into art.

You've come a long way from when you started. Your anatomy is way better now. However, it still looks rough. I feel like your hand is too rigid when you're drawing something, so everything seems a bit more Chiseled. I've been told that practicing calligraphy helps with hand motions. I did it back when I was taking piano, and it helped create a steadier, more flowing hand. Over all, your work's not bad. It could certainly be better, but the longer I watch, the more improvements I see. So keep it up. Just don't strive to be at the top too quickly. You'll run into failure and doubt if you move too quickly. Another thing that helps, is taking a break from drawing at home. Go draw at the zoo or something, and really get into studying things. Drawing from life as inspiration, has created some of the greatest artists of all time. So just keep it up.

Thank you and yes, I have been working hard to avoid pressing hard with a pen. Hell, I think I am leaving pens out of drawing all entirely. They sometimes bleed and leave the lines all ridged. Granted, they have their uses, but considiering I plan on relining my pics on art programs, I think pens would seem redundant. Furthermore, I have been using lighter shaded pencils and they have proven more efficient. I've been training myself with the strokes because my hand tends to shake now and then. But since I changed my diet, that helped immensely.

If your hands are shaking, try propping them up on something when you draw. A gel pad might help. Sometimes the shaking comes from having to hold your arm in the air. When concentrating, and using an arm, the muscles tend to tense a bit more than usual. Giving yourself something to rest on may correct this. Fresh towel out of the dryer to start with something relaxing. My hands shake from time to time, and having an arm rest of some type helps.
