The Guardians Guild is an organization much like the others in the Pokémon world that explore and adventure through mystery dungeons, only the Guardians Guild specializes in rescue missions and the protection of settlements from troublemakers. For this purpose, members of this guild are primarily made up of exemplary fighters.

Lukos is one such member of the guild. He is a midday Lycanroc that was born with a somewhat abnormal fur color for his species. Some Pokémon have speculated that his fur coat may be the result of almost being born as a shiny Pokémon, but only made it halfway to the shimmering blue coat that other shiny Lycanroc have. Lukos has faced both adoration and ridicule for this trait, but has long since stopped trying to understand the conditions behind his fur color.

Lukos' homeland is the snowy mountains. Although he now resides at the guild headquarters in a more temperate area of the continent, he greatly prefers cold weather, and even has a strange resistance to ice-type attacks that other Lycanroc do not have. However, he has an extreme vulnerability to grass-type attacks as a tradeoff. Lukos also has an issue with his left ear, which he describes as sensitive, and on rare occasions hears what sounds like a soft but high-pitched whine at the most random moments, which eventually fades away. He has since taken to wearing a cloth on his left ear to be a helpful buffer against sharp loud noises.

As a member of the Guardians Guild, Lukos has grown into a strong fighter, and has earned some recognition due to some of his unorthodox techniques. He has a unique ability to shape stone and fashion them into weapons, and will pull such weapons out of the ground with his mouth to fight with, but he requires solid stone available around him for this to work. Lukos claims that he was inspired to invent this move when he was young, after witnessing the legendary Pokémon Zacian using their sword to fight off marauders, though it is impossible to verify his story.

Lukos tries to maintain a stoic appearance with a thin veil of aloofness when dealing with the public, but a bit of prodding reveals he is actually quite gentle and only wants to help protect others. However, he has a very zealous sense of justice, and cannot stand seeing villians getting away with bad deeds. This makes him prone to make very single-minded rash decisions while in pursuit of such Pokémon, which can sometimes land him into trouble by being baited into traps or Monster House ambushes.

He is also an acquaintance of Anuhe, and has sometimes assisted the Sylveon upon request in their treasure hunts, but is most of the time duty bound to follow the direction of his guild. Lukos has also been made aware of the spirits within Anuhe's bracelets and has had encounters with some of them, but generally sticks to his own affairs while trying to support his friend as best he can.
