Soul was supposed to be the next grim reaper for his part of the ocean, but due to his soul-bound contract being riddles with typos, he didn't actually have to do his duties. His masters, Xerneas and Yveltal found soul-bound contracts an absolute headache to break alongside being an absolute bureaucratic nightmare. With all that taken into account, the two legendaries just… let him do whatever he wants within his powers, much to the fish’s delight. As of now, the lanturn has yet to actually read the contract, leaving him pretty much in the dark when it comes to knowing his own powers. (Not only that, he can't read unknown letters.)

Soul is gentle at heart. He does like to cause a little mischief here but never anything harmful. In recent times, the lanturn has been seen floating above ground thanks to the fish's ability to use Magnet Rise. If you see him, give him a wave! You might just find yourself a new friend~
