Constantine is a ghoul (chimera) with demon blood, so is almost immortal. He can also develop lion ears and a tail when stressed as well as turn into a lion either by will or by severe stress.
Constantine was bullied for many different attributes he has (being a heavyset half-Japanese otaku in rural Japan can do that) and expected America to be no different. Still is skeptical about America to this day
