Nova is a human raised male cat, he is neutered in this version. This cat lives in the library/observatorium with Alain. Despite his grumpy exterior, he can be friendly and tolerant at times. He doesn't often leave the library though. He likes to stay in the star room with the telescope and in the atlas and map rooms. He has figured out a few two-legged symbols at this point and follows the rules of his home. He has used the phone a couple of times by accident, which has resulted in inn funny situations. He knows little about the soul hollow cats, but he keeps track of events in the skies and sometimes talks to Hush because the orange furball won't shut up until he gets his questions answered.

He helps keep the mouse population low around the building and will go and sit with readers in the library.

He lives with Alain, a cat that wandered in but isn't a problem to the library owner. Since he came around often enough, they got him vaccinations and a collar. Nova warned Alain they would collar him if he stayed in the library
