A human turned Mienfoo that suffered a horrible injury shortly after becoming human- an aura attack from a Lucario permanently disabling Karim's ability to use moves. Spending most of his life acting as an apprentice to a blacksmith, Karim quickly learned that he had an affinity for blades- realizing that he was a skilled swordsman in his human life, with his razor sharp reflexes and duelist poise allowing him to wield any weapon with great mastery.

When he met Cloudchaser the Swablu and Honor the Honedge, Karim realized that even if he couldn't use moves, he had the perfect team to work with that made him even stronger than any other Mienfoo- or any other pokemon for that matter- and with Cloudchaser acting as his wings and Honor acting as his blade, Karim became the brave and powerful spearhead of the legendary Team Valkyrie
