Kinaru once was a Dragon that lived in the Dream Weavers world. When the dragons were frozen into crystals by Gnasty Gnorc, he ran to Dark Passage. He became friends with the enemies around the land and eventually became quite popular among the local enemies, in and out of Dark Passage. Kinaru felt powerful in his position, so he confronted Gnasty himself about being the strongest entity in the land. Gnasty and the other enemies knew he wasn't, but he had a pretty bad temper, so they went along with it. Gnasty didn't know this, though. Thus, he got agitated with Kin and attempted to trap him in the crystals, however Kinaru's rage was built up so much that he managed to break out of the crystal prison. He came out looking different. He was a monochromatic dragon with red eyes and he looked much more evil then his original form. He came out much more powerful, not instakill, playing pretend with male 3rd graders, "I'M INVINCIBLE YOU'RE DEAD!" powerful, but still powerful. Once Spyro defeated all Gnasty, Ripto and Bianca, Kinaru took the chance he had. With all the other roadblocks being cleared out of his path, he took over the Dragon Realms. He left Avalar alone, though. He doesn't have any plans for Avalar.
Ever since Kinaru took over, the lands have been shrouded in darkness and nobody is safe.
