Nyx Furyfrost

Uncommon-Aura

Name:
Nyx Furyfrost
Age:
18-20
Gender:
Female
Height:
6'3 (Without horns)
Weight:
???
Species:
Dragon

Alias/Nicknames: N/A
Element: Ice

Likes: Gems and shiny things, snow, cold places in general, fighting, terrible jokes, helping out.
Dislikes: Malefor, fire, hot places in general, ungrateful people, ridiculous end of the world scenarios.
Fears: Not being good enough to be the ice guardian, death, Malefor returning

Relationships:
Sparx: At their initial meeting, these two didn’t talk all that much, but managed to share a few jokes regardless. Upon being left in Warfang while Spyro and Cynder pushed onwards, Sparx and Nyx began to talk and get to know each other better. When it became obvious that Spyro and Cynder were not coming back, Nyx helped cheer Sparx up and give him stuff to do around Warfang. Eventually it became common for them to go on errands together. Although the terrible jokes they make are sometimes hard to stand, they work together rather well.
Ignitus: Nyx respected Ignitus for his warm and wise personality, as well as his morals. And he admired her for her strong will and generally level head. Upon his death, Nyx was definitely saddened by the loss of this father-like friend, but understood that it was indeed for the greater good. Ignitus saw the same spark of determination in Nyx that he saw in Spyro, and knew that she was meant for som form of greatness, even if it’s her own personal kind.
Cyril: As the ice guardian, Nyx has much respect for Cyril. Also because he took it upon himself to mentor her in the ways of ice, and she really hopes one day she’ll be chosen to be the ice guardian. So she’s trying to get on his good side, even if he’s a bit arrogant. Which, actually, might just be an ice dragon trait, according to Sparx. Cyril thinks that she has much potential with her element, and admires her willingness to learn and better herself.
Volteer: Nyx agrees that this elder should not have ever been given a thesaurus. Ever. His constant flow of words is much like the flow of electricity, and while it’s sort of annoying, he’s still got Nyx’s respect for his knowledge and experience. Also, having a conversation with him is kinda easy; Just listen and nod while he goes on. Volteer thinks that Nyx is a strong young dragon, and is glad that she can at least understand his vast vocabulary.
Terrador: Nyx might be a bit intimidated by this large earth dragon, but he also sort of reminds her of her father. So, Terrador has her respect for this reason, and also because he’s smart and knows how to be a leader. One day she hopes to be as good a leader as he. Terrador could tell immediately that one of her parents was an earth dragon, and sees many of these subtle traits in her, and he thinks that when she gets older it will indeed make her a good leader.

Personality:
While her element is ice, and she might be quite at home in a frozen wasteland, Nyx actually has quite a warm personality, if you’re the right person. She may appear a bit frigid and cold to people she doesn’t know or trust (or when angered), but once you’re on her good side, she’s anything but icey.
She loves to make jokes and goof off, which is what makes her and Sparx a rather good pair. She highly values fun and enjoyment, as well as friends. But she’s also a business-first dragon, and will take charge to get things done wherever needed. …While also making bad jokes.
Nyx has an absolute heart of gold, and will help anyone who needs it, even if it’s just running errands for frazzled mothers. She does prefer the adventurous jobs, though, which give her a chance to hone her abilities and become stronger. She’s a bit arrogant from time to time, especially in battle, and might bite off more than she can chew on occassion. She’s stubborn and sometimes a bit reckless, but never hot-headed. She’s an ice dragon, which means that she’s quite logical and approaches everything with a rational and realistic approach. However, she also somehow has her head in the clouds, dreaming of wild fantasies that she hopes will come true.

Occupation: N/A officially, does whatever needs to be done around Warfang. Basically an errand girl who runs some pretty dangerous errands.
Alignment: Chaotic Good

Backstory:
Nyx was born in the outskirts of Dante’s Freezer. She grew up around the threat of Cynder’s forces, and learned how to fight at a young age. Even after the capture of her parents in her young teen years, she refused to lose hope that this war would be won.
While exploring the frozen battlegrounds and evading Cynder’s forces, Nyx stumbled upon another dragon for the first time. This young dragon, only a bit older than her, introduce himself as Spyro. With him was a talkative dragonfly named Sparx, and the two were searching for a dragon named Volteer. Nyx pointed them in the most likely direction, and before parting ways, Spyro told her of the dragon temple, and said she ought to go there.
Eventually, Nyx decided to take this advice, and left the place she called home, in order to find others of her kind. However, she took a wrong turn or two, and found herself in inhospitible places that were thick with Cynder’s forces. The longer she stayed in these places, the more she realized that some dark influence was slowly seeping into her being, corrupting her slowly but surely. She took to wearing a fury gem around her neck, to be spiritually closer to her ancestors.
It took time, but Nyx eventually reached the temple, and was welcomed in. Spyro and the reformed Cynder had left for unknown reasons shortly before, but she was told not to worry about this. However, no one could help worrying when they never came back. When Malefor finally rose from his prison, Nyx and the guardians fled to Warfang, where they mounted the battle against his dark forces.
Three years later, upon the return of Spyro and Cynder, Nyx assisted in defending Warfang and distracting the Destroyer so it could be stopped. She stayed behind in Warfang with Sparx and the others, and it somehow became her unspoken job to keep Sparx out of trouble. Balencing this job with repairing Warfang was quite the interesting task.
These days, with things finally going back to normal around Warfang, Nyx just runs odd jobs and helps out where she can, often with the very dangerous things that small mole people just can’t do.

Trivia/Other Headcanons:
• The gem she wears around her neck is usually a fury gem, but can also be spirit, health, or mana as well.
• She’s the daughter of an ice and earth dragon, and while ice was the genetically favored element, she has slight earth dragon traits, such as the rocky scales along her spine and her thicker body build. Her mother was the ice dragon, and the earth dragon was her father.
• She’s a bit small for her age, being smaller than even Cynder (Who stands at about 6'9. Spyro is around 7'2).
• Before her slight corruption from the influence of Malefor, her scales were a sort of dark royal blue color.
