Here's the titular main character of my comic strip! A while ago, I thought about doing a huge sheet of Jaycee doing every physical cartoon body transformation/injury/trope, but that proved to be really taxing. The remnants of that project are the 9 ones you see up there.

Very very very long description ahead, I don't expect anyone to get through this but I like having this here for my own reference.

Known Family: Ella Pawman (Great-Grandmother), Cat Canada (Cousin)

Friends: Ella Pawman, Cat Canada (co-worker), Wayne Gates (JPS co-worker and private educational tutor)

Cartoon Classification: Stretch/Squash Cartoon -> Stick Figure/Anthropomorphic Animal Hybrid (Domestic Cat)

Backstory:

Not much is known other than Jaycee Pawman led a typical teenaged life in a small, insular community before that fateful trip to her famous film star great-grandmother Ella Pawman. Suddenly, a routine visit turned into a legal nightmare, as Ella forged Jaycee's signature on many ridiculous legal documents, and passed down her world-renowned justice, investigative and rescue organization (the Ella Pawman Squad) entirely over to Jaycee (now known as the Jaycee Pawman Squad). Jaycee moves to the squad base located in the big city Canvasville, and finds companionship with her two squad partners Cat Canada and Wayne Gates.

Personality:

In a word, "blissful ignorance". Jaycee is a very cheery gal that only wants to get through life with the least amount of drama or conflict possible. She can be shy at times, and is over-apologetic for her clumsy actions. Her sense of morality is strong, and she'happily helps others unless it puts her in physical danger. She is also easily excited, and when she is, her attitude changes dramatically - the normally docile Jaycee becomes more impulsive and attention-seeking. Eventually, she grows to believe that she can make a difference and positively influence the lives of others while staying with the JPS.

Strengths:

Jaycee inherited some of Ella's talents and acting ability naturally and it shows. She likes dressing up in costumes, putting on accents and playing pretend (although the ability to fool others with these disguises vary). She can make others laugh with her or at her easily and quickly brightens the sour moods of others.

On the physical side, being a Stretch/Squash cartoon means that her body is flexible and resilient to damage (for the most part). She also inherited Ella's ability to pull objects out from behind her back (something that increasingly is becoming rarer in modern cartoon characters now), but Jaycee has terrible control over what comes out compared to the experienced Ella. Jaycee can also see the 4th wall and talks to the "audience" occasionally, but everyone else just dismisses it as Jaycee being weird and dumb (a lot of toons don't believe that the 4th wall even exists).

Weaknesses:

Jaycee's insular upbringing has made her naive to the rest of the world. This makes her easily suggestible to the will of others, and can be easily hypnotized or tricked. She is phobic of canine characters, heights and deep water and panics quickly under stress in a job where she's constantly put in danger. Her common sense is lacking sometimes and was never the sharpest tool in the shed - previously failing all her high school classes, forcing Wayne to tutor her.

Physically, her eyesight has been terrible her whole life (extreme nearsightedness) and has no depth perception. Because of this, Jaycee's hand-eye co-ordination is a mess, and she's super clumsy. Jaycee's is also very unlucky, a lot of unfortunate things (ranging from minor inconveniences to tragedies) happen to her, making her a source of schadenfreude to others. She also can't have tons of sugary candy because it makes her "trip" badly from the sugar rush.

Fighting Style:

Jaycee hates fighting and would rather flee, but only fights if she's cornered in a last-ditch situation. She doesn't like "normal" fighting, but she likes using the weapons of comedy and humiliation on her enemies, like utilizing classic cartoon gags and props to get herself out of sticky situations. If Jaycee dresses up and acts like someone who can fight (superhero, boxer, martial artist, etc) she is able to perform better, but this always isn't possible because her first instinct is to run away screaming.
