Manus made a career as an Iron Legion medic and officer. Though he was often recommended for promotion and advancement to higher ranks, he consistently refused and kept to lower stations, acting as a medical professional for his warband. Now 52 years old, Manus retired from the Fang Warband and was given the rank of Iron Legion Quaestor, but has recently been convinced to join the Cowled Warband as their primary medic and first officer. Records of his early years and education at the fahrar are redacted.

As a medic, Manus specializes in traditional medicine, first-aid, combat healing and surgery. As a guardian, Manus favors avoiding injuries rather than treating them, but when that isn't possible, traditional treatments are considered most effective. As an Iron Legion medic, he is no stranger to treating burns and other kinds of traumatic injuries resulting from explosives or heavy machinery, and as such tends to prefer dramatic but ultimately life-saving methods, such as cauterizing, stitching and lancing wounds.
