Karen Rhadivere is a large, yet friendly dragoness. Found as a young hatchling, she was rescued from an attack by wild animals by human outdoorsman Alex Rhadivere. Feeling sorry for her, he essentially adopted her. He was surprised to learn that she was not simply a wild animal herself.

Despite her human upbringing, or possibly because of it, she is often seen as feral by the more civilized dragons. Hunting, as well as living in caves and the elements, has been a way of life for her.
