Personality

• Down to Earth, Realistic, Morbid at times, Blunt, Will not sugarcoat anything.
• Doesn’t go after confrontations, but doesn’t mind confronting someone if need be
• Not social at all, does not care to have many friends
• Will protect his friends at all costs
• Incredibly Loyal, Honest, Respectful to those who earn it, Reclusive
• Fears nothing he cannot see
• Is unable to love, or feel affection due to a curse set upon him long ago
• Does not let go of the past easily, haunted by it often
• Seen by many as a monstrosity, a freak, or cast out, holds this against most of society
• Will not go out of his way for others unless they mean a lot to him
• Extreme sense of pride in any job or task he is given; comes from his past

Accessories / Food

• Left Arm - 1 Golden Band in the middle of his bicep + 3 Golden Bands on Forearm (1 at elbow, 1 in the middle of the arm, and 1 at his wrist) - a little tighter than skin tight - constricting
• Right Arm - 2 Golden Bands on bicep (top and bottom) + 2 Golden Bands on Forearm (1 at elbow and 1 at wrist) - a little tighter than skin tight - constricting
• Left Leg - 3 Golden Bands on hamstring - a little tighter than skin tight - constricting
• Right Leg - 2 Golden Bands on hamstring - a little tighter than skin tight - constricting
• Around Top of Neck - Optional Bandanna (usually red or white, but can be any color / design)
• At Base of Neck - Golden Plate with hole in the middle for his neck to meet his body. Runs to a point in the front between his pecs, comes to a rounded point in between his shoulder blades in the back. Has a clasp on both sides of his neck with remnants of a cursed chain which is now broken hanging from each side. Chain is always silver / gray .

Behind the Scenes

• When he’s not devoted to a task, he’s usually thinking about his deceased lover, Kira.
• He is unable to love, but remembers what it felt like, giving him a sorrowful feeling at the thought of the word.
• There is a dark secret about him that he tries to keep at bay, not telling a soul unless they are someone incredibly important or special to him.
• The glow in his skull changes color / size with his mood. If he sees the apparition of this deceased Kira it tends to glow a soft blue, as where if he’s angry or sees one of his friends hurt badly it will grow and glow a dark blood red, eventually bursting into flames and transforming him into the monster the curse from so long ago caused him to become.
• Secretly he enjoys the small, quiet retreats and just thinking about nothing, but he’ll never admit that

Sledge’s Second Form

• Sledge’s Second Form is a monstrosity, a mangled demented, yet powerful version of his former self. There is a strong resemblance, but there is nothing left of the character prior when this form takes over. It is similar to the Hulk or Doctor Jeckel and Mr. Hyde.
• It is triggered by pain - either emotional or physical, although moderately controlled by his conscious, he’s able to restrain it from time to time, keeping his normality.
• When his changes take place, his skin and muscles bulge uncontrollably, usually resulting in the golden bands on his arms and legs breaking or bending out of shape. His vertebrae protruding from his spine grow out into 2-3 foot, spear-like needles, and similar needles burst out of his skin, protruding from every dot along his tail, although much smaller than the spinal ones, usually around 4-5 inches each. The glow in his skull bursts into flames, and his eyes inverse dilate to thin slivers.
• In extreme cases, the souls of his feet, the palms of his hands, and all of his claws will set ablaze, leaving an even greater path of destruction, and burning footprints where he has been.
• He loses all control of this monstrosity, and remembers nothing after it has taken it’s course, returning his body to his control.
• He is constantly haunted by this form - it appears when he sees his reflection as a separate entity, usually trying to anger him, or put him down - attempting to release itself upon the world.

Sledge With Skin and Fur

• Same fine, black fur on his head / neck
• Neck appears normal, can’t see ribs
• Ears are black with a gray inside, appear normal, can’t see braces
• Has gold Egyptian eye marking around both of his eyes, same physical eye though
• Teeth aren’t cracked or broken. White colored and pristine.
• Thinner, longer, black, shiney nose at the tip of his muzzle
• Six whisker dots under / beside his nose on both sides
• Always wears his Egyptian skirt, with three cloths hanging between his legs, all having important symbols on them (will be in ref sheet / pictures for reference)
• Fuller, Stronger looking body, ribs barely exposed, more pronounced muscle structure
• Same markings / tongue / tail / earrings

Author’s Notes

-Sledge’s creation was one of chance. I put all of my effort into Brisk, and drew him whenever I was in a great, happy mood. It didn’t feel right venting with him, or making him do deeds that were unlike him - I didn’t want to ruin the character I had created. I needed a darker, more in-your-face character, who did not look the part of the good guy at all. A lot of time and effort went into Sledge - finding a name was even harder. To give him depth I had to do something horrible to him, hence his back-story, which you should read if you’re interested in complex characters. I took this once honorable, loyal to society, and beloved character and twisted him with horrors none should have to endure, creating the Sledge we know today. Over the last few months though, he’s taken on a softer role here and there, when I allowed him to see the apparition of his deceased love, and found the emotion that’s buried inside the once hollow shell.
Sledge continues to amaze me, drive me further with what I can do, to push my limits art-wise, and you guys seemingly connect and appreciate all he stands for. I love the fact that my readers / viewers, and followers can connect with a character almost as deeply as I have, and that’s a great drive to keep delving deeper into everything involving Sledge and all of my others.
A quick fact : I had put up the journal explaining what Sledge would be, and a little bit about him a long time ago - it’s still there actually. I almost let this idea go, and leave it at a concept, isn’t that hard to grasp now? Sledge has become such a great part of my gang, and has stolen a bunch of my watchers’ hearts; it’s hard to think where all of this would be now if I had decided to take the easy route and not persue his creation!
