This "gender-bending" is the result of a serum secretly concocted by Lillith while she had been working at Aegistech before she had met Karma for the first time. After one day witnessing and hiding herself from a Darkrai's fury (Because she was not strong enough at the time) attacking the Aegistech headquarters, which was due to the corporation's damaging and secretive practices to the world, she collected and examined the "residue" leftover from the assault and over the course of seven years. Lillith studied and gradually developed the serum to allow one to acquire the powers of a Darkrai and possibly more. Recently, she had succeeded and Karma, although very hesitant at first, volunteered as a test subject.

The form only lasts for about seven days; after the time is up, Karma will have reverted to normal male Eon form the next morning when (s)he wakes up.
Yet, the same Karma that those around him know is still present; somewhat reserved, but caring deeply for those who are close. (S)he is a little self-conscious as a female Darkai, but is steadily getting used to changing into this form.
However, the serum also changes the hormones, making them more "feminine" in addition to appearance.
Karma uses the name "Maria" while in this form.

His/her powers have also changed, as (s)he can now alter the dreams, memories, and even behavior (Depending on the individual) of those who are asleep and close by in many ways. Maria can also attack foes in the forms of Dark Pulse and Focus Blast; both black with a green flare and light green in nature, respectively.

Dark Void, requiring quite a bit of strength, creates either a large orb of darkness for encasing or large tendrils made of shadowy energy emerging from a conjured portal that constrict, drain victims of their strength, and then pull them into a deep netherworld until they drift out of consciousness, with the entrance disappearing without a trace.

Maria's plush, almost cloud-like hair has a special trait, as it can elongate to great lengths, be freely controlled to ensnare others (Hence, Wring Out), and can become stronger than steel for offensive and defensive measures; requiring little effort. While it is manageable without much grooming, (s)he definitely welcomes those who offer to do so.
