Cher is a creature called a Ladrodane - a member of the Bandane family(Apollan animals designed to steal for survival) along with Ranidanes. She is not a dragon type, however, and has a normal lifespan.

Cher is the field reporter of Good Morning, Amberwood!, and Sonny's partner. She is in on Sonny's double-job, working against the Mayor in secret to get him out of power. A supporter of rights for all intelligent species, Cher uses her innate skills of deception and thievery to find inside information that can ruin the Mayor's image.

When she isn't doing that, she puts on a big, fake smile and tells lies about the fabricated scenes she's asked to report - a scheme the Mayor uses to scare the city into submission.

Both Sonny and Cher answer secretly to an independent reporter, whose name happens to be Chaz.
