Hessa is the princess of Aliba, a country on the continent of Faunis which is home to many dwarfish anthro species. Her parents, the king and queen of Aliba, are fair and competent rulers, but are constantly harassed by other empires due to the country's advantageous location on the planet.

Aliba is sought after because Apollo is a planet that doesn't spin on its axis, creating perpetual day on one side of the planet and perpetual darkness on the other. This specific country sits directly under the 'Day Star', allowing them to make full use of solar energy.
