Backstory: As a baby, Mark was adopted by a Catholic couple from the Detroit suburbs who were unable to have children. He is the current human incarnation of an ancient magical water spirit who is believed to be over two thousand years old. (A handful of other ancient spirits exist on Earth, and are generally isolated from each other.)

Personality: Mark is anxious and reluctant to use his superpowers. He's very religious, but in an introspective way, so he's pretty private about it. Mark thinks Metalen Meisje is very cool and looks up to her. His other favorite people are his parents and his cousin, who was estranged from their (the cousin's) parents as a teenager.

Powers: Mark can control large amounts of water, moving it around or using it as a shield or weapon. The more water Mark uses his powers to control, the more he starts to gain access to the spirit's memories, and the more he starts to think of himself as the spirit and not as a separate person. Eventually he also starts to physically transform into a large dragon-like creature (which takes a while to wear off.)

Weaknesses: Mark is very uncertain of himself and errs on the side of not intervening on most situations. He also needs access to water to do anything with it.

Fighting style: Theoretically, his most dangerous attack is a highly concentrated jet of water - essentially a pressure washer with a zero-degree nozzle (which are so dangerous that Consumer Reports won't recommend one.) However, he typically prefers to push people back with blunt force.
Mark can also control snow (if there is snow on the ground), which changes his style significantly.
