Ostelan is a Moonling who, like all Moonlings, was born under the Great Moon.
She lives on the side of the Moon where the only light that bathes their land is the Moon's.

There's a forest that seperates the Moon's land from the Sun's lands. They both travel across their own lands to the forest to meet in an eclipse and then back again. It takes six years for every loop and both the Moonlings and the Sunlings have to play nice in the forest under the watch of the dragons. Both people follow their Moon and Sun in every step of the journey.

Her people have dense fur that's always of grey tones so that they can hide in the dark more easily.
This makes them all look similar but they can activate their bioluminescence as a greeting to the others of their kind so that they know who is who. They all have different patterns. There are some who can read the patterns for life fortunes.

They always cover their necks because it's rude otherwise. It's also to protect their voices as that's who they praise their Great Moon. Their voices are beautiful and they often gather in the dark to hold ceremonies for the Moon.

Moonlings have excellent hearing.
