Dmitri is a golden "tabby" tiger/lizard sphinx who's lived a very long time. So long, in fact, that he still retains many traits from ancient times. He originally came from Egypt but has wandered around eastern Africa and parts of Europe for quite some time.
He enjoys sitting around, reading books all day and is curious: always looking for more books to read in strange, new places. Despite living through history, he still is interested in the subject, mostly because it brings back memories to him.

Dmitri wears a hood to protect him from the harsh sunlight of the deserts which he usually traverses. He doesn't communicate with humans much, but he will trade stories with them and isn't against eating their food.

He can stand on his hind legs, but he tends to go on all fours, especially for locomotion. It's hard for him to walk on two legs, but that does free up his lizard-like claw-hands for use. He's also got scaling over some parts of his body where he'd otherwise have fur or regular skin.
