Tallyn Nyntyg (Translation: Shadow-Spell Aetherpaw) is a strange creature, having a body made symbiotic with what appears to be living shadow. This being, of a recently-created race called Umbragryf, was made so intertwined with the shadow that he is thoroughly blind: his eyes lack pupils. He requires special enchanted corrective lenses to view anything along the visible light spectrum, though he is not particularly vulnerable - his large ears reminiscent of a Fennec's and his symbiotic shadow give him a biological radar, which he prefers in a melee.
This "Umbragryf" has tools to help himself in combat scenarios:
His trusty scythe, Immolant Reaver, is used for mobility mainly; however letting the blades in the head fan out allows him to fight. The scythe gets its name from the fire-charged Aetherium crystal embedded into the head, which sets the weapon ablaze.
A more combat-appropriate weapon, his glaive called Fulcrum, houses elementally-charged gels, which power the weapon and add to its already potent disarming capabilities by providing him with more variety in elemental attacks.
His innate ability is something he calls umbraweaving: he uses his symbiotic shadow as a thread, which he uses to manipulate his surroundings, or as further protection or offense. Using this ability, however, expends magical energy. Eating helps replenish his stores, though half of the energy is converted into nutrients, removing the need for much of a digestive system.
His tails, back, and belly all show his magic levels, with a solid black meaning empty, and glowing violet patterns meaning full. Blood rushing to any part of his body will also result in a violet glow, similar to a human's blush.
