This is Gareth the biological father of both Topaz and Damien.

While young Gareth was one of the more active members in his family, so active that his parents require him to be escorted by a guide to the wilderness when hunting or when in the mood for exploring. So at least he makes it back safely. He's from relatively huge family, one of the younger members. Thus thrusting him into the suitor business, where they have to travel to other kingdoms to see of a suitable mate, usually done with allied kingdoms. One day while exploring around the forest the residents of the Crimson kingdom usually lurk in, he accidentally steps on Saleens' tail causing them to meet for the first time and yeah it wasn't a very good impression. Lothaire had to help break them up there and both sides had to explain their situations. After being introduced the groups (Lothaire and Saleen with Gareth and The royal guide) decided to hunt together since both Saleen and Gareth were still learning at the time. Most of the other suitors he met up, he kind of didn't like most of them (It was not that he was a dick/jerk, it was suitors that he met that were acting kind of bad and the parents kind of were rude too. For the most part). He was called up by Lothaire for a suitor appointment, since most of the suitors sent to Saleen was either a dick to her or Lothaire knew their backgrounds enough to not like them. After a month of such appointments that didn't go so well, Gareth accepted and headed over. Finally arriving at the actual kingdom Gareth was greeted kindly and got off the right foot with Saleen. Since it went well, Gareths' parents allows him to visit over there a bit more often. They were rather glad that he finally found a person that he can get along with. Over time they got much more closer, then later got married.

After Topaz was born, he was a very careful yet fun father.

Gareth is the more relaxed in the personality type, while Saleen was raised to be absolutely strict thanks to her grandparents raising her while Lothaire was trying to fix up the castle so no one breaks in. So Gareth was kind of the person Saleen can try to relax with.
