Topaz is the first born of the Crimson family. First daughter of Saleen Crimson. When born she was such a rambunctious child. She was into playing a lot more than studying back when she was a young child (between the ages of 1-6). When she was 6, her mom (Saleen, who was also pregnant with Damien) and biological dad, Gareth went to talk to a group of vampires that were above ground, from their clan to take out the surface clan of vampires that were causing a lot of crap. Topaz was playing around in the near by woods. Then a small group of mortals did an ambush on the group of vampires. Saleen had to get out, she did try finding Topaz before flying off, but things got to dangerous and was urged to leave by her father (Lothaire) before she was killed. With tears in her eyes, Saleen did just that. Gareth was fighting off and trying his best to explain to the mortals, but frankly that did not work. Thorin was in the woods (different direction) watching in shock, since he was there for the speech and decided to try to break it up. Which actually turned into Thorin having kill a few mortals, sadly. Topaz heard the commotion and hid in a empty tree log. She watched in the direction of the noise and saw all of the blood shed. Scared out of her mind at the time. Thorin tried saving Gareth's life, but someone impaled him through the chest. Killing him. Topaz saw it and cried quietly curling up in the tree. After the battle, Thorin wounded wandered off in Topaz's direction, and heard her cry. He looked around and finally looked in the log. Seeing the poor girl lost and alone, Thorin melted emotionally. And tried showing Topaz that he was friendly. Topaz accepted him after a talking to him for a little while, and asked if he can take her home. Which was really difficult for both of them since neither can fly and finding the secret cave to the underground kingdom was harder. They finally made it. Taken in by the guards and taken to the castle. Saleen was grieving over the fact she had to leave Topaz out there. Not knowing that she was alive or not. Lothaire was right beside Saleen trying to calm her down. When the guards finally let Thorin and Topaz in, Topaz and Saleen where overwhelmed and just hugged and cried it out. Reunited. As a return of favor, Lothaire decided to take in Thorin since he was without a home. Over time Thorin and Saleen were seeing each other and all. And eventually got married after Damien was born.
At the age of 14 Topaz went to a military camp. To learn how to fight and fend for herself. The sergeant of the camp was a freaking brute. Let's the campers starve if they have failed or helped another camper. Which Topaz did a lot of helping. Which pissed off the sergeant. Over the course of years some of the campers were getting tired of the sergeant especially Topaz. One day (Since vampires sleep during the day) the sergeant was out on a walk with her metal moonstone broach on, thinking that all the campers were asleep, then surprise Topaz ambushed the sergeant catching her off guard. The struggle lasted hours, but Topaz remained victorious taking the moonstone broach off the sergeant and cannibalizing her. After discovering the sergeant's corpse authorities sent everyone home. After questioning them of course. While at that camp Topaz did make a group of mercenary friends, who she hangs with at night to hunt or do some secret mission to wreck the surface clan vampires, you know the ones that were starting crap with mortals.
Right now Topaz is at the age 24. She think Damien is just lame. Science nerd lame. And it kind of confused about Siri. Like she doesn't exactly know how to bond with her at all. But overall protective if she is around danger with her around.

ALSO about vampires. In some forms vampires can switch vision. Vampiric eyes allow them to see a lot better in the dark. While Mortal eyes allow them to blend in more easily, but do not help them in the dark at all. They can only perform this in their mobian/anthro form, Fox, and cat forms. Or at least for the underground clans. The surface clans instead of taking a bat form, they take on a bird form, depending on where they live, the type of bird varies. But the surface vampires can change their vision in bird form.
