And here is something I should have done like a hundred years ago. Magnhild was actually the second character I ever thought of for my pirate story, after Mel of course. I used to draw Magnhild quite a lot back in like, 2004/2005, but she kind of fell by the wayside which is why I've only ever submitted one picture of her on this account. Magnhild plays a fairly important role in the first book of the series so I figured it's about time I gave her some attention instead of always drawing characters who don't show up till books 2 and 3 . . .

I think most of the info on her sheet should be fairly self-explanatory except possibly the "blacklist" stuff. To put it simply, the Andersonian government ranks wanted pirates according to priority of capture. The top 15 on the wanted list are referred to as the "blacklist" and are seen as such a threat that all their legal rights are revoked, even citizenship, which is why Magnhild has no legal nationality. Of course being higher on the wanted list means life will be more dangerous what with both the government and bounty hunters chasing you down all the time, but most pirates view it as a kind of status symbol and actually try to get higher on the list to build their fame.

. . . I'm actually thinking of posting some kind of glossary of terms so I can just link to that instead of having to explain things in the description all the time. But I don't know if having to scroll through a list to find an explanation would only make things even more confusing. Dilemmas!
