Smiles is a um well odd character he pretends to be a demon when he's not....
He also has the ability to shift to different forms, the form above isn't his main one however he likes it since he seems more innocent and 'cuddly' as he puts it.
He's also well..... no other way to put it a typical anime pervert.

Now you can see why he want to be small and cute.
