Sahnket is a Ryknix which is an alien species that closely resembled a fruit bat. However, that is about where the similarities end. Her body is based on something like chiting instead of keratin and bone, her blood is copper based which gives her blue hues where most are used to pinks and reds, and she sees in far infrared wit some backup from echolocation. On her back are a series of bio-luminescent spots that do very much the same as eye spots on a moth would do: fool some predators into thinking you are more dangerous than you are. Their world is laden with metals such as iron, cobalt, nickel, and copper, many of which would be toxic normally at the levels they appear in their food. Ryknix shuttle these metals into complexes in their fur resulting in blue, green, and even red hues while also making them more toxic to creatures that would prey on them.

Sahnket's home world exists in a very delicate balance, and her kind have nearly gone extinct twice. Because restorative magic and technology can easily disrupt the precarious ecosystem, those with the talent or the uncontrollable curiosity to pursue these paths leave their world either by ship or portal. Sahnket carries the blood of a now rare subspecies of her kind with strong restorative magic which she secretly used to keep her brother alive. When he finally left Rykna, so did she.

Shanket struggles with sight because of the range in which her eyes work, so she wears protective goggles in the day, reads braille, and loves audio books. She has a definite addiction to oranges and other citrus, but is otherwise a very friendly and simple woman. She loves languages and has done her best to learn as many as she can.
