This particular character is adapted from a D&D character with no background, modified to fill my setting’s role of the canon character, Beelzebul. This entry does contain references to gas and scat.

Once a powerful angel from the heavenly plains, Triel was cast out into hell for spinning a web of lies and betrayal that cost many lives, both mortal and divine.
Upon reaching the hells, Triel was reborn as a devil, though he retained his angelic beauty and supernatural charisma. Using his abilities, he was able to secure a place as one of hell’s rulers, coming to be known as the Lord of Lies.

However, Triel’s thirst for power was unquenchable, and he was unable to break his habit of compulsive lying and betrayal, and formed a plot to overthrow the king of hell, Asmodeus. However, his efforts failed, and he was defeated.
Rather than killing him, Asmodeus cursed Triel, humiliating the angel who had been so proud of his beauty and perfection.
However, unbeknownst to devil king, the power used to curse Triel was so foul, so vile and so profane, that it came directly from “The Void” itself, altering reality to such a degree that the angel was transformed into an avatar of “The Void”.

Cursed with filth, Triel is stricken with unending flatulence, the haze of which hangs over his circle of hell like a thick fog. He also produces a constant flow of solid waste of supernatural amounts.
As such, Triel has confined himself to his fortress, which is inhabited almost exclusively by several creatures known as Otuyugh, which feast on his never-ending waste. He only tolerates their foul presence out of necessity, as without them he would overwhelm his palace within days.
Besides these beasts, Triel is attended by a small entourage of Incubi, who attend to his other needs, and carry messages to the rest of his followers, as he doesn’t allow anyone but his closest agents to see him in his humiliating state.

Like many devils, Triel has a number of worshippers, to whom he grants powers from the cleric domains of Trickery, Hatred and Flatulence. However, these powers are channeled directly from “The Void” and so all curses, sacrifices and kills made by these powers, send the afflicted souls directly to “The Void”, even if said curses/sacrifices/kills are made in Triel’s name.
