In the Mitaverse, There lived many dragons in the world, unfortunately, a plague hit on them and killed about nearly the entire dragon population. About a handful of them survived, and the last children were, of course, Vida and Fuego.

However..

Vida was a victim of a series of kidnapping girls as slaves for cheap labor, a miserable life. However, what everyone didn't know was that Vida had a frequent sleepwalking problem, because one night, she walked herself into a nearby lake, drowning herself.
Fuego on the other hand, was actually a pretty happy dragon. Very eccentric with a odd liking for.. Ritual festivals. He would go to these many times! But coincidentally, on the same night Vida died, Fuego accidentally tripped and fell into a fire pit, killing him instantly.

In an odd twist of fate, the previous guardians of heaven and hell, decided to punish Vida and Fuego for ending a species by making them the next guardians..
