BIOGRAPHY
All ages are equivalent to the ages stated

Birth - 10:
Aero was born to a higher rank Ken-Tal male, Aviator, and his first (and oldest) mate, Ailerona. Aero is the second oldest of the three children born between the two: Windrider, Aero, Solstice. He is the second oldest of all of Aviator's seven children, carried by three different mates. However, even early on in life, he only views Ailerona and his two full siblings as his family.

By the equivalent age of a 5 year old, Aero is set to training with two Masters. His body and mind are forcibly bent to their wills. Or so they tried. Aero's curiosity was far stronger than the conditioning of Ken-Tal training. He'd go through the routines easily, accepting that he had to learn what his father demanded of him, but then he would disappear into his personal space or into the outer limits of the city to explore. By the time he was the equivalent of a 10 year old, he had been around the vast majority of the outskirts, staying out late into the darkness of night and worrying his mother.

10-15 years:
The older Aero grew, the more his mind thirsted for knowledge. He continued to do his training, as was expected, however he also began to focus on other things. He met an older male that was a scientist named Freeline. Scientists were considered low ranking officials and often found themselves fighting for survival, as a result, the male tried to chase the young Aero away. However, Aero was persistent and continued to track him down. Eventually the male gave up and began to teach Aero in earnest. The relationship between Mentor and Student was kept secret. Aero found ways to sneak off to meet with the old male and learn more and more about a world that he found intriguing, though it was forbidden due to his father's hard-earned rank in society. The danger was part of the appeal, however Aero knew that his hunger for real knowledge of things unseen was more powerful than any fear he had ever felt of his father and his standards.

Along with scientific knowledge came a lesson in the brutality of the Ken-Tal's way of life. Aero became aware of his sister's betrothal, though she was no more than 6 by Ken-Tal standards, when he was nearing his adolescence. It infuriated him to the point of confronting his father. This is one lesson where the scars on his back come from. Aviator knew Aero was defying him in more ways than simply saying he was wrong about Solstice's future, though he did not know how. Aviator took the chance that Aero's defiance gave him and punished him for far more than just this one incident. By the end of it, Aero's anger was far stronger than his fear and he swore that he would never follow in his father's path. In fact, he became a pacifist and swore off Ken-Tal traditions.

Reaching the age of 15, Aero managed to smuggle Solstice into the waiting arms of the underground rebellion, promising that he would find her again one day. At this time, Solstice was only 8, yet she seemed to understand what he was doing and the danger he was placing himself in by doing it. Once Solstice was safely away, Aero returned to his father's home and resumed his studying only to have Ailerona approach him silently. With few words, she asked if Solstice was alright and if she was going to be safe. He answered in as few of words as she asked and they both shared a moment of relief.

Following the 'disappearance' of Solstice, Aviator was impossible for anyone to deal with. Even his favorite mate could not contain his rage. It was during this time that Aero announced that he was leaving the family unit to pursue his own interests, not defining them. Aviator responded much as he had when Aero had defied him in Solstice's arranged marriage. Beaten again, Aero withstood the pain and left as soon as Ailerona had treated and wrapped his wounds. Aside from his mother, Aero would choose to never return to the home again. However, he knew he could not leave his lovely, gentle mother at the hands of his despicable father. He vowed to return and rescue her the way he had Solstice.

15-18 years:
Upon leaving home, Aero traveled to a little known area with his mentor, Freeline. The area was surrounded by natural barriers, making it nearly impossible for those who were not seeking it to find it. A series of small huts sat in a semi-circle around a medium sized facility. It was a training area for scientific minds - one that had withstood the tests of time and numerous attempts by the Ken-Tal government to abolish it. It was here that Aero would learn to be a geneticist as well as the art of weapon-making.

Within the school, it was customary to teach each student two professions. One was solely science-based and considered frivolous by outsiders. The other was a 'useful' skill so that the students could earn an income and support themselves, though they may never find themselves rising within the ranks of the Ken-Tal hierarchy, it did mean that they were able to live a decent life.

Though he was a pacifist, Aero knew his father would never approve if he chose to follow a more pacifist profession to go with his genetics research position. As a result, he chose weapon design and construction, something that allowed him more freedom on Kentahl. He knew that the Tarkhola would seek out the weapon designers to prepare his warships and arm his armies. It also meant that Aero could deal the Ken-Tal leadership a serious blow by designing a malfunction into the weapons themselves that would remain untraceable to himself and would, instead, appear to be operator error.

19-25 years:
Aero's training at the school continued well into his adulthood. He developed many friendships with males and females who agreed with his viewpoints on the state of Ken-Tal society. Many of these friends moved on to serve the underground while others went back to their home areas to work toward the betterment of Ken-Tal society. A few of the females he met moved offworld completely, leaving the horror of life on Kentahl behind, with the assistance of the underground.

With the completion of his training, Aero sought a position within the employ of the Tarkhol of his former home area. He was given one as the Tarkhol's weapons designer, but also as a geneticist. He was placed in charge of a program designed to create Ken-Tal without the direct aid of a female's womb. This is a project that Aero relished, not because it meant that he could assist the Ken-Tal in growing stronger, but because he could end the manipulation of fetuses and allow for natural selection to take its course.

During this time, his father sent for him and he went back home to find out why. Ailerona greeted him warmly, holding him close with tears in her eyes before she allowed him to go to his father. Aero was grateful for the chance to see his mother again and surprised when she told him that Solstice was doing well on a station known for being a sanctuary to Ken-Tal females. All was said in a soft conversation that would seem mundane and pointless to others, but to the two of them was full of meaning.

Upon reaching his father's study, Aero stood behind the chair and clasped his hands behind his back, keeping his shoulders high and his chin higher. He would never cave to his father's sheer strength, just as he had never done so in the past. His father tried to appear bigger and Aero allowed himself a small internal smirk, Aviator was afraid of who his son had become. After a few well-placed barbs at one another, Aviator informed Aero that one of his enemies had suggested a truce via an inter-family mating. Aero had been chosen because the male's daughter had a few odd quirks about her and was unsuited to the stature of a male such as Windrider. As Aviator was continuing his explanation, Aero stared at him hard and knew the male had chosen him, not only due to Windrider's position, but also because he was forcing Ken-Tal tradition on Aero. There was no way for Aero to refuse and retain his position within the employ of the Tarkhol.

Following the conversation, a female that Aero had never met before, yet seemed familiar, was brought in by Ailerona. She was introduced as Luminescence. Instead of bowing her head and acting as a submissive female, Luminescence crossed her arms over her chest and looked him up and down. Aero was pleased by that and held his hand out to her in a friendly manner, treating her as an equal - much to the horror of Aviator and the pleasure of Ailerona. A small quirk of Luminescence's lips as she appraised him again before taking his hand into hers was all the reassurance he needed that this most archaic of Ken-Tal traditions would be acceptance this one time. She may, very well, prove to be a kindred spirit.

After his acceptance, Ailerona clapped and lead Luminescence away so they could prepare for the ceremony to bind the two together until Aero chose to dissolve the relationship. He turned back to meet his father's disapproval with no emotion on his own face. He'd accepted his father's proposal, what more did the male want? With that, Aero bid farewell to his father and left the house for the second time.

Later that year, Aero and Luminescence (or Lumia, as she preferred to be called) were mated and given a home of their own, equipped with a basement that Aero turned into a small lab space.

25-30 years:
It was not long before Aero realized where he had seen Luminescence before. She had studied at the school as well. With the position he held, he found himself bringing her into the project given him by the Tarkhol. Luminescence quickly became his right-hand 'man' in the project and was accepted as such by those involved with the project as well. Those outside of the project believed her to simply be assisting her mate as a female should - though if they bothered to look closely, they would realize that she developed many of the ideas and concepts used in the project itself.

While Aero worked on weapons for the Tarkhol, Luminescence took over the leadership role in the genetics project. All of the males that were taking part in the project understood that she spoke for Aero. A few grumbled, but no one questioned her as most of her ideas worked well enough. The few that didn't were tossed aside and never spoken of again. Eventually a few of the more disgruntled males took their complaints to those who worked closely with the Tarkhol and Aero found himself being questioned about it. He reiterated the law that stated a female could work in their male's stead when the male was duty bound elsewhere, he also stated that, due to Luminescence's extensive training in scientific exploration, she was qualified to do so. They spoke of the project often and she did not propose anything that he did not approve of. Each word grated on his nerves, as he believed Luminescence did not need his approval to do anything, but he did not allow this aggravation to show.

Once the ordeal was over, the Tarkhol informed the project's staff that Luminescence was doing the job given her by her mate and that he would not tolerate any further complaints against her. Following the Tarkhol's exit, Aero himself rounded on the males and released the temper he held in check on most occasions. There were no further complaints regarding Luminescence's extensive involvement with the project.

By 29, Aero and Luminescence had a breakthrough. Using their own genetic material and an artificial womb, they were able to develop a fetus. The two watched and monitored the fetus's progress, delighted at how well it was going. This was the third attempt and both were cautious that the machinations of the project work perfectly. Soon, the fetus grew to a size and age that it would survive outside of the artificial womb should there be a need be and both sighed in relief. The day Fusion was born, Aero turned the equivalent of 30.

31-40 years:
During a meeting with the Tarkhol in regards to a new weapon, Aero finds himself being interrogated about his young daughter. As the Tarkhol makes his point by shooting a defenseless slave, Aero becomes aware of just how dire his and his family's situation is on Kentahl. Following the threat, he retreats to his home and uses the code word they had developed to warn her it was time to leave. Without missing a beat, his mate dons her traveling clothes and collects their daughter as though they were simply going to see his parents. Aero sends a coded message to his mother and they disappear into the crowded streets.

It takes several months of strategic planning for Aero and his family to get off world. The leader of the underground movement, Hardline, takes a personal interest in their escape, as Aero had assisted him on multiple occasions. As they leave the planet, their transport is attacked by the ships of the local Tarkhol. Aero and Luminescence manage to fight their way free and gain access to a small fighter that barely fits them both along with their young daughter.

Following this, the two of them make their way to the nearest station to Ken-Tal space. Once there, Aero barters his skills to a pirate in exchange for safe passage to Altera - the world he and Hardline had deemed most appropriate for his family's escape. During their travel and his time off from repairing the pirates' ship, Aero holds discussions and negotiations with the government of Altera, securing his family sanctuary on the planet itself. By the time they reached Altera and landed at Omega-1, Captain Kaylea of the pirate vessel, Nightmare, wanted him to remain aboard. He refused and left her disappointed, though he did suggest a close friend to serve as a permanent engineer, should she be able to locate him.

On Omega-1, Aero sought out his sister, Solstice. He found her living on the station and serving as a waitress in the bar of a massive Ken-Tal known simply as Mac. She greeted him warily until her memories came back, foggy with the passage of time. Soon they were talking about old times and she was filling him in on her life after he got her off world. He did the same for her before bidding her farewell and promising that they would invite her to their new home as soon as possible.

When they got to the planet's surface, the Alterian government greeted them calmly. Aero managed to negotiate a piece of land that was comprised of meadow and situated between a jungle, a mountain range, and a river. With a list of regulations, he moved his family into a temporary home before leaving to build their permanent residence, 5 hours outside of the city.

Once the building was complete, he moved his mate and daughter into their new home and set up work with the Alterian government.

41-45 years:
With time, Aero became a distinct asset to the Alterian government. He was well-known by the citizens of the planet as well as those of the station. He did multiple things for the Alterian government, including anthropological research. While he had researched the origins of the Ken-Tal starting at a young age, his time on Altera gave him time to truly delve into the history of his people without interference. He also did research on other races, developing a catalog of sorts for quick perusal, should any of them ask for sanctuary. This allowed the Alterians to determine whether or not they wished for those seeking their protection should be allowed on the planet or placed on the station. It also allowed them to develop the tourist sections so that they were aimed at each race's preferences.

As Aero reached 45, he was contacted by the Alterian ambassador to Earth. A planet he had visited once on request from the Alterian government and an Earth organization called Section 51 - he had sworn never to go back again. Unfortunately, the Alterians and Earthlings had a different idea and he found his services being requested by Section 51 on a more permanent basis. He agreed with conditions of his own.
